Days later Loren traveled to a village where the chief and all his tribe learned of the Christians’ faith and their beliefs. This was the first time they had ever heard of Jesus there. The chief and half the villagers soon bowed their heads in prayer.

When Loren Cunningham (1935- ) traveled all the way from his home in California to remote villages in Africa, he was beginning to fulfill his longing to tell the whole world about God’s love. Loren had a vision of waves of young people splashing up on every continent to spread the gospel and help the poor. Convinced that he should lead youth overseas, Loren began Youth With a Mission (YWAM), and today thousands of young people have joined him in his mission to spread the gospel throughout the world.
